Missed a Flight After an Airline Schedule Change? Your Rights

Airlines sometimes change times and routes, and the notice can be easy to miss.

Check your email and app

Look for schedule change notices, including spam folders.

If the change was significant

When an airline makes a major change to your flight, you are generally entitled to rebooking or a refund. What counts as significant depends on the rules where you fly.

What to do

  1. Show the airline the original and the changed times.
  2. Ask for rebooking on the next suitable flight.
  3. Ask for a refund if the new time doesn’t work.
  4. Request everything in writing.

Keep proof

Save notices and screenshots.

If you weren’t told

If you never received the notice, tell the airline, because it can help your case.
